Gervonta Davis took down Rolando Romero on Saturday night to improve his perfect record to 27-0 as a professional boxer.
The southpaw delivered a vicious left hook to knock Romero out cold, sending him tumbling to the mat. The punch handed Romero the first loss of his career and preserved Davis’s status as a champion.
Davis is known for packing a powerful punch. He’s now knocked out 25 opponents over his 27 professional bouts. And Saturday’s knockout was as deadly as they come.
After countering an attack from Romero, Davis slides a quick left hand underneath Romero’s jaw to effectively end the match. Romero didn’t know where he was after the blow, looking dazed and confused when getting back to his feet. The referee rightfully called the bout off in the sixth round with Romero staggering around the ring.

While his knockout was enough to send a message to his foe in the ring, Davis apparently wasn’t done dishing out the trash talk.
Gervonta Davis trolls Rolando Romero
Davis posted a meme comparing his knockout of Romero to a scene from the TV show Martin. The way Davis fell into the ropes, using them as a brace to keep from hitting the mat, is hilariously similar to Martin Lawrence’s reaction in the episode.
Davis is living this victory up, and this post was a fitting celebration to the big win.
