Business of the Week: Darrell Hobbs State Farm

State Farm Agent Doug Hale has been in Sterling since the mid-’80s. In Feburary 2022, Doug Hale retired. Darrell Hobbs is the agent that took over the Sterling location on March 1, 2022. Darrell also purchased the building from Doug at that time. He was fortunate enough to hire Chris Gould to be the office manager of this location and handle the day-to-day activities along with the help of Monica Becerra.

Darrell grew up in Sterling and attended Sterling schools. He also attended NJC for two years before transferring to UNC in Greeley to finish his college education. Darrell immediately started working at State Farm with the intention to become an agent. At that time, a person had to work for the company for three years to become an agent. He worked in various claim departments for three years and then had the opportunity to become an Agent in Denver.

Darrell opened his first office in Denver, Colo., in 2001. In 2005, he went back to State Farm as an agency consultant where he helped hire and train agents in the South Denver area. In 2006, Darrell was promoted as an agency field executive in Utah and Colorado to oversee different agency field offices for State Farm.

Darrell enjoyed being an insurance agent but really wanted to get closer to Sterling as that is where his family lives. That is one of the reasons that he took over the Eaton Agency on Jan. 1, 2011, it was the closest opportunity to Sterling at that time. When Doug announced that he was going to retire, State Farm was kind enough to allow him to get back home and run this office as well as his Eaton location. Darrell says, “I am very excited to serve the people of Sterling, Logan County and the surrounding area in any way possible.”

They offer most insurance products including auto, home, life, health and business insurance. They also offer financial services. They can also help with anyone’s mortgage needs, as well, through Rocket Mortgage. Most importantly, they offer exemplary service to their clients and do their best to assist them when they are in need. They do this by educating their clients on available products and services that meet their needs and help guide them through the claims process if a loss occurs. They know that insurance can be overwhelming for some, and they are always available to make it manageable for their clients.

If you’d like to contact Darrell, Chris, or Monica, please stop by their Sterling Office at 116 W Main Street, give them a call at (970) 522-6245, Darrell@mysterlingagent.com and find them at www.mysterlingagent.com.

Please join the Logan County Chamber of Commerce in congratulating Darrell Hobbs State Farm as this week’s Business of the Week and tying our community together!
