Seems like 2022 is all about foldable smartphones as Xiaomi is the latest brand after Samsung and Motorola to launch a new device in the segment. The tech company has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, which comes just a day after Samsung revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Xiaomi launched the new foldable phone in China, however, there’s still no official confirmation on the smartphone’s global release date.
But here’s what we know about the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. The smartphone has been launched at CNY 8,999 which is Rs 1,06,423 approximately. The new foldable phone by Xiaomi comes in three storage options: 12GB RAM + 256GB, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage and 12GB RAM + 1TB variant which would cost around Rs 1,42,000 approximately.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 flaunts a sleek 8.02-inch Samsung Eco screen that offers a resolution of 2160×1914 when unfolded. There’s a 6.56-inch Samsung AMOLED E5 display with a resolution of 2520×1080 pixels when the phone is folded. The displays are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The Mix Fold 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and runs on MIUI Fold 13 based on Android 12.

The latest in Z series, the Z Fold 4 device comes with a 7.7-inch AMOLED inner screen and a 6.2-inch outer display. The device is backed by the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The device comes with 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 – Optics
The device has five cameras with one on cover display, an under-display lens, and three rear cameras. The rear camera module is headlined by a 50MP main sensor with dual-pixel autofocus and optical image stabilisation. The rear camera module also features a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto camera.
Galaxy Z Fold 4 – Specs
The main screen has a 4MP front camera, while the cover display features a 10MP selfie shooter. The foldable device comes with a 4,400mAh dual battery. The brand claims that the phone can charge up to 50 per cent in 30 mins.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset powers the Galaxy Z Fold4. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Fold3 comes with the Snapdragon 888. Both the devices come with 12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB internal storage. However, the new Galaxy Z Fold4 comes with up to a 1TB storage option.
