BT Wholesale has launched a new service that enables businesses to access external calling for Microsoft Teams through the company’s cloud-based phone solution. The WHC Teams Direct Connect solution uses BT’s Wholesale Hosted Communications (WHC) offering to provide a quick and easy way to make and accept external calls through the cloud.
The WHC Direct Connect offering enables access to both hosted PBX and hosted SIP trunking directly through Microsoft Teams. Businesses can make and receive high-quality digital phone calls directly through all their devices. They may also take advantage of all the features of the cloud-based WHC phone solution, including call recording and analytics.
“Bringing Microsoft Teams into our WHC portfolio was a natural next step for our partners and their customers,” said Gavin Jones, channel director at BT Wholesale. “Microsoft Teams is a great platform that many businesses rely on, but we wanted to take our support further by adding the extra functionality of allowing phone calls. This is a simple and cost-effective way to get calls in Teams so that we can deliver the greatest benefits to our partners and their customers.”
Features of the new WHC Teams Direct Connect offering include the ability to mix and match hosted PBX, hosted SIP trunking and Teams so partners may build niche offerings to meet the needs of their business customers. The solution is simple to order and deploy and does not require IT support or long wait times. It is also priced competitively and doesn’t require end users to spend time and money on IT training and development to take advantage of it.
End users of WHC Teams Direct Connect will benefit from improved collaboration, essential for today’s hybrid working environments. They may also take advantage of the solution’s simplicity, since all calls are aggregated through Teams in one simple location. Business users will have the same number anywhere they are, on any device. The offering also includes a native connection to BT’s WHC automated ordering journey, which enables end users to be added in real time and up, running and making calls within minutes.
