Pwd’s ‘estimator Software’ To Speed Up Devpt Projects | Lucknow News – Times of India

Lucknow: The public works department (PWD) is soon going to launch an estimator software that is going to provide an assessment of the funds required to execute a certain work or project.
To strengthen transparency and speed up operations of the works undertaken by the department, the government is working on introducing an estimator through which monitoring, digitization and execution of various works will be carried out through the online module. The money required to achieve the milestones and actual status of the project will be evaluated to come to a conclusion.
The app will also cover all the projects being carried out in the state and will provide the real-time status on a dashboard for close monitoring. The survey work of the progress being made is going to be done through help of drones and satellite mapping.
The PWD has already introduced several software and dashboards over the past five to seven years to sharpen its monitoring system. Srishti, Vishwakarma, Chanakya, Sentinel and Court Case Monitoring System are some online tools that are being used extensively for various works in the department at present.
An e-office system is also going to be introduced in the department and the date to make it live has been kept as January 1, 2023. “The contractors and vendors executing works or any other stakeholder will not require to visit the office once the e-office system goes live. We are taking help of IT experts to roll out various online services and will start implementing them from July 1 in phases. By January1 next year, all the services will be provided online,” said a senior PWD officer.
Photographs of the repairs required on a certain road stretch including the patches and pits found will be uploaded on the software and alerts will be sent out to the junior and assistant engineers concerned.
