You can now play Allan Saint-Maximin’s Greek mythology-inspired card game on your phone.
The Newcastle United star announced a digital version of his board game is now live on the Apple App store and Google Play.
Saint-Maximin developed Helios himself and launched it in late 2021. He has held tournaments of the physical game at venues around Newcastle, given out cash prizes for winners and showcased it at the MetroCentre.
He tweeted that the online version is a chance for potential players to brush up on their skills ahead of planned tournaments.
“We are only doing this for you guys, to give the chance to anyone around the world to download this free to play app & enjoy, as well as potentially winning incredible prizes,” posted the Frenchman from his Twitter account.
He added: “While waiting for this first online competition, take this time to train well & develop your strategy. Don’t hesitate to give us any feedback for us to make the best final version possible.”
What is Helios?
The card game devised by Saint-Maximin is inspired by Greek mythology.
The description of the phone version on the Apple App Store reads: “Based on Greek mythology, Helios is a card game to be played 1 vs 1. The aim of the game is to beat your opponent by getting rid of all of your cards first. You can change the course of play by making the right choice at the right time.
“There are 4 power cards that can change the game instantly when played. They all have different powers, that when used correctly, can help you win.
“There is a deck in the middle of the table, where players need to roll dice to decide if they draw a card or not.
“In this game, you will find a bit of everything! Emotions guaranteed, give it a try & let us know what you think.
Develop the best strategy & beat your opponents.”
